Of course, if you are a hotel guest, just pop in to use the facilities and our team will be happy to familiarise you with these to you get the most from your visit.

If your goal is to improve your general fitness, you're spoilt for choice with the facilities at The Retreat. Improve your endurance and stamina using our range of cardio equipment, including treadmills, cross trainers, stair climbers exercise bikes and rowing machines.

 

Training on cardio equipment will make everyday activities easier and improve your overall health.

LET THE TRAINING COMMENCE

Using fixed weights is great way to start your weight training before moving onto use free weights. For an upper body work-out, try the chest press, shoulder press, bicep curls and lateral pull down machines or train your entire body with leg presses, ab machines and much more.

FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH

Training with free weights is a great way to build muscle and our range of free weight equipment will help you increase muscle mass in a safe and efficient way. 

 

Free weight exercises also enable you to load each side of your body equally, which prevents muscle strength imbalances. By regular incorporating the use of dumbbells, weights benches and squat racks into your programme, your fitness will go from strength to strength.

WELLBEING OR WORKOUT

Work that body, come dancing, sweat it out, exercise mind and body. Fitness classes, like people, come in all shapes and sizes and we're sure to have a class for you whatever your age, level of fitness or preferred workout. 

Our new Fitness Studio offers a menu of bespoke virtual classes by Fitness on Demand, as well as a selection of instructor led classes.  Book yourself into any of our scheduled sessions, or choose a digitally led class anytime the studio's free.

FITNESS ON DEMAND

With our state-of-the-art "Fitness on Demand" you can get fit at a time that suits you!  Enhance and vary your routine with a vast range of screen led fitness sessions including a choice of difficulty levels.

 

There are hundreds of classes to choose from including Yoga, Pilates, Piloxing, HIIT training, dance and Combat Fitness. The classes are available in addition to our instructor led classes and can be chosen whenever the studio is not in use so, if you miss a group class or have a short time to fit a class in, there will be a class available to suit you, your schedule or your fitness and energy level.
